Today Pope Francis issued the Apostolic Letter Motu Proprio “Magnum Principium” – with version in Italian, English and  Spanish. Subtitled “Quibus nonnulla in can. 838 Codicis Iuris Canonici immutantur”, (“By which Can. 838 of the Code of Canon Law is Modified”), it is described by the Catholic Herald as “granting bishops’ conferences greater control over the translation of liturgical texts”.
