Progress of Measures and Statutory Instruments
The Church Representation and Ministers Measure 2019 received Royal Assent on 4th July 2019 and came into force on 1 January 2020.
The Church of England (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure was deemed expedient by the Ecclesiastical Committee and laid before both Houses of Parliament on 4th November 2019. It is awaiting consideration.
The Faculty Jurisdiction (Amendment) Rules 2019 were laid before both Houses of Parliament on 6 August 2019 and will come into force on 1 April 2020.
The Legislative Reform (Patronage of Benefices) Order 2019 was laid before both Houses of Parliament on 6 August 2019 and came into force on 1 January 2020. [Note: this is an Order, not a Measure as indicated, and made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 9 of the Legislative Reform Measure 2018].
The Church Representation Rules (Amendment) Resolution 2019 was laid before both Houses of Parliament on 6 August 2019 and came into force (in part) on 1 September 2019 and, so far as not already in force, 1 January 2020.
The Legal Officers (Annual Fees) Order 2019 was laid before both Houses of Parliament on 6 August 2019 and came into force on 1 January 2020.
The Ecclesiastical Judges, Legal Officers and Others (Fees) Order 2019 was laid before both Houses of Parliament on 6 August 2019 and came into force on 1 January 2020.
