On 13 May 2025, the Church of England issued Membership of Canterbury CNC announced (“the Press Release”), relating to the membership of the Crown Nominations Commission (CNC) for the selection of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury. This is distinct from the earlier announcement by Diocese of Canterbury relating to its Vacancy in See Committee (ViSC) for its diocesan representatives on the CNC, an integral part of the archbishop’s appointment procedure, begun in December 2024 and reviewed here. The Church’s estimates in January 2025 indicated that the full membership of CNC would be known by mid-March 2025, prior to its meetings in May, July and September.
