The Québec Court of Appeal has ruled in favour of the right to wear a hijab in the courtroom.

In El-Alloul c Québec (Attorney General) & Ors 2018 QCCA 1610 [unofficial English translation] Ms El-Alloul appealed a judgment of the Superior Court, District of Montreal, dismissing her application for review of the refusal by a judge of the Court of Québec to hear her in court in February 2015 because she refused to remove her hijab in the courtroom and was therefore contravening the dress code established under the Regulation of the Court of Québec.
