UK ambassador for the promotion of human rights
The Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, has appointed Rita French, formerly his Principal Private Secretary, as the UK ambassador for the promotion of human rights. This is the first appointment to such a post in the UK, but other countries including Germany, France and the Netherlands already have ambassadors for human rights. Continue reading
