Issues relating to asbestos raised by a recent consistory court judgment

A petition seeking permission to sell an organ located in the tower of All Saints Findern raised the peripheral issue of the possible presence of asbestos in the instrument; the court noted that an asbestos survey for the building had indicated the possibility of asbestos within the organ itself. Confirmation of its presence would have an impact on the disposal of the instrument, for which a conditional petition was granted.  Continue reading
